Natal felicitations to
kallista_gold. May the coming year be delightfully Discordian.
We got to go out this evening and see a movie- the premier of Zathura, courtesy of
indigopowder, with her daughter A., our boys and
ravenlaughing. It was an interesting movie, and significantly less of a kid film than i'd expected.
Work was interesting. Had a talk with the boss today, which, if he means what he said would make the position i'll be completely in as of Friday morning significantly more interesting. He still has something of a credibility gap to bridge, though, so for the time being, all bets are off. I did get to make someone do something today— our one problem end user had a problem with something which is legitimately broken, and needed someone who could print a few things for her to send to an individual who would be making a decision based upon them, but was either incapable of or too lazy to do so. Since she's up against a Friday deadline, helping her out from a spirit of the greater good seemed like the right thing to do. I definitely didn't have the time to do so, so I went and talked to our UI designer, who seems to spend most of his time reading the World of Warcraft forums, to see if he'd help out. When he said he was far too busy, I went to the new director and told him what needed to be done and why it was the right thing to help the user out. He decided that it was too much work for him, but then turned around and made the UI guy do it. Hehehehehe. I'm just enough of a contrarian that this amuses me greatly.
