What a great way to transition from one year to another! Courtesy of shadowdaddy and webcowgirl loaning us their copy of Puerto Rico while they're off living the life of debauchery in London, we shared the meme with gwynn_aaron and ithilien, and wound up the night with a bottle of sparkling wine and the remnants of a Chateau Ste. Michelle Gewurtztraminer and gwynn_aaron's Lord of the Rings trivia game.

This after our outing with the boys and the aforementioned couple to the zoo this afternoon. I should go and try to sleep, but at the moment am just a little bit too wired.

So tired. Funny how staying up until 4 a.m. will have that effect, especially when small people start waking up at eight.

damashita is continuing her pursuit of sainthood, as she got up with the boys (and stayed up), while i didn't get out of bed for an extended period of time until a bit after ten.

The day itself was largely unremarkable, so i'll spare you the trivial details.

Comcast has teamed up with the Seattle Thunderbirds and are making home games available on their On Demand service the day following the game. I figure this is an attempt to market to NHL fans who aren't getting their fix, and they're doing it on the cheap- using the automated video cameras at Key Arena for the picture and recycling AM radio for the audio portion. It's hockey. Barely, if the two-thirds of a period i watched were any indication. I think no hockey is better than bad hockey, and this was pretty bad. Heck, i was pulling for a fight to break out, just because it would have been more interesting than watching mediocre skating and lacklustre play, and i'm decidedly not a hockey fight fan.

Going to try to take scootercomputer in to the bedroom and get him to sleep. I may make it there before he does.
