Jul. 9th, 2004 04:16 pmI saw a posting today from someone about a local pagan event being put on by a group calling itself "Sean Ciall." Their webpage can be found here (as usual, links open in new windows, so you can take a moment to read about it before continuing). The minutae of the event, sponsored by local organization OLOTEAS can be found here.
As a Celtic Restorationist/Reconstructionist, and one with an affinity for the Scots Gaelic traditions within that, there are things about the Sean Ciall group which make me, well, a little twitchy, and elements of what's described of their ritual which make me scratch my head in slightly bemused confusion.
( Long dissection and commentary, cut for the disinterested. )
