Mercury will be going retrograde early this week. Those who claim to know cite increased communications difficulties as a symptom thereof. Judging from yesterday evening, i'm thankful that we got our issue out of the way before this happened.

In other notes: the container with the majority of ithilien and gwynn_aaron's possessions is due to arrive in Seattle this afternoon, so they'll actually have some of their stuff in their house. Radical thought that, eh?

Well, today ended up being completely different than expected. Instead of unpacking ithilien and gwynn_aaron's container today, we ended up going to Skagit Valley- because the container wasn't due to arrive in Seattle until 2:30ish, and wasn't going to be delivered today.

Taking the day off, though wasn't completely wasted, though. damashita got a call announcing that- after nearly five months- our van was finally fixed. So, we made the hour-and-a-half drive up to get it, and did the typical things we do in the Valley- mainly visiting the bank and seeing if any of a small handful of old acquaintances happen to be at work so that we can drop in, say hi, and move on.

The van is much quieter than the Honda. It's also an automatic and has power brakes. I drove it for just a little bit between stops, and proceeded to forget both facts, tried to shift from first to second at about 2900 rpm, and damn near put myself through the window when stepping on the left-most pedal- which i then remembered wasn't the clutch. So- again we'll have the capacity for hauling around people and/or fairly sizable objects.

Back to work tomorrow- when, of course, the container arrives. Will possibly be able to escape an hour or so early and will begin helping out as soon as possible.
