Feb. 9th, 2004 09:11 pmHappy natal anniversary a day early (hey- for once i'm not a day late!) to
rubylou.
Just got back in from alexander's third hockey practice. He's starting to really try to do the drills in practice now, and it's showing. He's made a fair deal of practice in just three weeks.
I think i'm starting to get a grip on what's going on with my right knee. I think somehow i've fouled my mechanics up just a bit so that when starting or changing directions instead of keeping a straight line, my upper leg is twisting in somewhat, and it's straining the knee. Does this sound like an anterior cruciate ligament strain to anyone (looking at the three massage therapists among the readership— i realize it's outside your scope of practice and you're not diagnosticians, but you've got the best physiology and kinematics knowledge)? Tonight, before taking the boy to practice, i wrapped it to lend a little support, and it felt pretty good. Looking at it now, there's significantly less swelling than last week and only a tiny bit of new bruising. My skating felt distinctly better as well.
Speaking of skating, since Friday is Payday, we should try to work a trip up to get the skates sharpened in if the budget will at all permit- alexander's got some nicks in his and mine are just dulled on the edges i use most.
At work, we have a release scheduled for Friday. Daniel and i should finish testing it tomorrow, so we may try to push our dates up again and deploy it early. We *so* rock.
Soup summons me. I haen't gotten to eat since lunch- my day after noon on Mondays looks something like this:
noon- lunch at desk.
work until 4:30-4:45
run home, get alexander for hockey. Leave by 5:10-5:15.
arrive at rink, get both of us geared up.
hit ice 6-6:10
practice from 6ish-7:30ish
run home, shower, finally eat.
bed to follow.
