Nov. 13th, 2003 11:38 pmJust got back in and showered after volunteering as a walk-on with a team on which two of my Greenwood Soccer compatriots also play- they were going to be short-handed and put out a call for anyone who'd be interested.
Played about twenty minutes of the first half at left defender, and didn't do anything too egregious other than just feeling out of place (i've always played midfield with the occasional stint at striker when playing in the field. Spent the whole second half in goal, and did passably- gave up a few goals, but had no defence back on one and slipped when squaring up against the shooter on another. All in all, i'm tolerating the performance, especially when i stopped to think of the last time i played a organized competitive game- some time around May of 1988.
Legs are going to hurt tomorrow. I can tell this already. But then again, i tend to hobble around like a nonagenarian when i first get out of bed until things stop crackling and crunching.
