At prompting from my DW, here's my January horrorscope from Astrocenter:
Be prepared for a little confusion in January, dear Aries, especially if you have let important details slide. When Mercury, the planet of communication, turns retrograde in Capricorn in the career sector of your chart, misunderstandings and complications may occur, especially in your relationships with authority figures. Untended responsibilities could have a way of coming back to bite you. Just take care of them. Expect to approach the basic features of your life with a serious attitude, since you may be called upon to contribute more than usual. An older family member could require your attention. You may need to revisit issues from the past. Take your time and fulfill your responsibilities.

You continue to enjoy the wonderful combination of energies produced by transits moving through the fiery signs. In January, romance may be especially delightful as Venus moves through Sagittarius. Travel could be involved, especially as it contacts Pluto at the end of the month. This may mark the beginning of an entirely new relationship cycle for you.

You may need to be careful about the feelings of others around January 18. During the Full Moon in Cancer, those around you could seem more emotional than usual. Be responsive without getting stuck in anyone else's quagmire.

Avoid confrontational situations when Mercury turns direct on January 23. You need to be accountable for your actions and decisions.

Friends continue to play a significant role in your life, especially toward the end of the month. Anticipate the unexpected when the Sun combines with Neptune. A little boost may come from an unusual source.

Hmmm. Now if there's any way i could use that to rationalize the frelling disaster that the Hunt for Employment™ has been this month…
The part about romance- or, in conjunction with what it says about possible travel being involved, perhaps roamance (as i originally mis-typed it) might be an interesting thing… ☺. So, anyone interested in auditioning for that role? *giggle*

Grrr. Been ripping CDs to mp3 lately. Every frelling track skips. Piece of shit CD-ROM, probably, which hasn't been working right since upgrading to WinXP. Oh yeah- and they take for-friggin'-ever- as in an eighteen track CD started at 5 p.m. yesterday and just finished when we got home after 1 a.m. 8 friggin' hours to rip ONE goddamned CD? WTF?

Defragmented memory, in case that was part of it), got a new CD ripper (haven't tried it yet, but it's up next- figure it can't take longer).

Took advantage of the weather and went to the zoo. Ended up seeing [livejournal.com profile] krautboy while we were there, and the typical conversation about the Red Wings ensued. Probably got some passable pictures of the raptors (no zoo trip is complete without seeing the hawks) and the snow leopards. Resisted temptation to attempt to feed stupid-ass people to various animals. All in all, a good day so far. The Hockey Night in Canada games tonight suck, though, so it'll be time to find alternative viewing- and i'll miss my hockey fix for the weekend, damnit.
