All in all, things are going pretty damn well here. I feel appreciated and get to be part of a team, rather than an adjunct member who gets left out of the loop on as much stuff as possible (which was pretty much how i felt most of the time at MS after David moved from being our team lead to PM).
I get to break the product, and it's all good. Just a quick high-level, low detail overview: i'm testing a web app which is client/server. Most of the new stuff is C# and .Net; most of the legacy stuff is Cold Fusion. The company itself does high-end travel services, and is pretty much a middle layer between suppliers (cruise lines, tour companies, hotels etc.) and travel agents. If anyone reading this has any real build-room experience and is looking for a job, we're looking for a build engineer- send me e-mail and i can get you the specifics.
Anyway, i'm going to be doing a lot of automation, hopefully some model-based testing, and get to play with some new toys- LoadRunner among them.
Enough for now. Time to get back to poking around in this sometimes slightly odd UI.
