Life in a nutshell
Oct. 21st, 2003 06:13 pmRecently, one of the book clubs to which we belong delivered the new volume in a series being written by one of my favourite authors. Since it has been a few years since a new book has been out, i figured i'd re-read the earlier books.
So i went down to the boxes of books still in storage in the basement, dug around a bit and found the first few and started going through them. I just started the fifth of the series, and grabbed the new one to add to my stack of books. In doing so, i happened to take a look at the listing of books in the set. The new book is the seventh.
damashita is certain we have all the volumes preceding this one, and i was fairly sure i'd read them all before. Unfortunately, the title of #6 doesn't seem familiar to me. Worse, i can't find it in any of the boxes i've dug through so far. In the process of doing so, i've found a few others in series worth re-reading, but have always seemed to miss one in each series- one in particular that we both want to go back through of which we can find all the books but the first.
This seems to be a particularly apt description of life in general right now. Most things are lining right up, but there are just chuinks here and there which are out of sync.
