Apr. 8th, 2003 01:18 pmWe'd had a thread on the SeaGoth boards about having a discussion group focusing around religion and spirituality. Lots of people expressed an initial interest, so we picked a date for it. Unfortunately, although a few people tentatively committed to attending, no one bothered to send the requested e-mail to me to get directions on how to get here (i'm not putting the address and directions in the forums, where they're publically accessable), and since the scheduled date is two days away, i'm cancelling the gathering and hoping there will be enough interest to reschedule for some other time.
This isn't a dig at anyone who had expresed interest in attending but didn't follow up, just an expression of disappointment that people seemed to be interested in the concept, but weren't interested enough to confirm that they'd be here. Some have perfectly valid reasons- anyone who's ever cleaned a house for Passover knows what a chore it is, and there are other extenuating reasons as well.
So, we're open to hang out with people on Thursday, if anyone's interested in doing something or dropping by.

So.
When's a good time?
Any particular allergies (flowers, food stuffs) that a good visitor should know of?
Re:

Date: 2003-04-09 05:09 pm (UTC)I keep having these bon fires and inviting people, and trying to make plans to visit people in Seattle, and they just seem to shine me on. *go figure*
After three tries, I give up.
Hope Thurs works out for you.

Date: 2003-04-09 08:49 pm (UTC)This is just something about the area that drives me nuts. People here are always late, or don't show, and they don't call to let you know, either. grrrrr!
I was talking with Z about it the other morning.. that it seems like one of those situations where it could be me.. but I know that I wouldn't have any problem pulling a party together in Oregon, even when I haven't lived there for 10 years. I've never had a party here where more than 4 other people showed up, except our wedding. Frankly, most of the guests who came were from OR. Almost none of our Oly friends did, and we thought we were close with them too.
Sometimes, I hate this place.
