ravencallscrowsHalf a year ago, we moved to Seattle, reasoning that there weren't any high tech jobs to speak of in Skagit County and that i'd continue the five-year plus skein of 60+ mile each way commutes.
In yesterday's paper there was an advertisement for a company in Mt. Vernon (right in the heart of tuliptown) looking for PHP/Perl scripters and experienced software testers. Looking at the company's website, they do ladder ranking for various online games.
Figuring that since i have to apply for positions anyway and no one else is really beating down the door, i'd send them a resume and cover letter, expecting nothing really to come of it. Within hours of sending it, i got back a request for a phone interview.
Oh, the irony of it all....
