Feb. 3rd, 2003 01:14 pmAfter dealing with alexander being a disrespectful, disobedient and just plain defiant child for the nth day in succession, i'd had enough.
It was a reasonably warm morning for early February (prediction: this will go down in the annals of history as the winter that wasn't) in the Principality of Caer Pugetia, and i needed to get away before thoughts of strangling the child took over. Went out for a walk toward Discovery Park (about a twenty minute walk from here), figuring that a long walk to the beach and perhaps a nice cry might help. Got to the park, and about two-thirds of the way to the beach along the loop trail (about a 2.8 mile hike), the clouds lifted and the sun came out. Ended up feeling considerably better, except for the occasional complaint from my cartilege-bereft and scar tissue-enhanced right knee.
Tomorrow, weather and parrot-chomped left index finder permitting, an outing to Rosario Beach and/or Deception Pass with the Seagull, the Irish parlour pipes, and the Clarke whistles to sit on the bluffs and engage in a little musicological therapy.
Oh, yeah. Still nothing positive on the job front, but the the state has finally pulled its head out of its collective rectum and decided that i'm really unemployed, and accordingly eligible for benefits as such.

Date: 2003-02-03 01:24 pm (UTC)Want to trade boys for a while? I'll let Alexander romp about in the snow for a bit, go sledding and then intoxicate him with cocoa.

Date: 2003-02-03 01:34 pm (UTC)i really need to give him a massage.... he is so overdue for some deep tissue work. :)
You know, i'd love to trade.. .and i know alexander would love to go play in the snow, he's been so disappointed that we haven't had ANY snow this year. We could take Jonah to the zoo, the aquarium, the science center, and maybe a ferry ride. :) But, i thought you were planning to come visit us anyway... we can just trade kids as you leave. :D

Oh! Do you two have non-lj names? Maybe Ollie and Lena, or Frank and Gertrude? Abraham and Mary Todd? (I'm Missy, but maybe you guys knew that......)

Date: 2003-02-03 05:15 pm (UTC)So, not knowing the backstory on this knee, have you been taking Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate to help rebuild the cartilege? Taking those has helped my arthritis greatly. I can walk without a cane most days where I was using one by 10a.m. every day before.
