Grrr. Been ripping CDs to mp3 lately. Every frelling track skips. Piece of shit CD-ROM, probably, which hasn't been working right since upgrading to WinXP. Oh yeah- and they take for-friggin'-ever- as in an eighteen track CD started at 5 p.m. yesterday and just finished when we got home after 1 a.m. 8 friggin' hours to rip ONE goddamned CD? WTF?

Defragmented memory, in case that was part of it), got a new CD ripper (haven't tried it yet, but it's up next- figure it can't take longer).

Took advantage of the weather and went to the zoo. Ended up seeing [livejournal.com profile] krautboy while we were there, and the typical conversation about the Red Wings ensued. Probably got some passable pictures of the raptors (no zoo trip is complete without seeing the hawks) and the snow leopards. Resisted temptation to attempt to feed stupid-ass people to various animals. All in all, a good day so far. The Hockey Night in Canada games tonight suck, though, so it'll be time to find alternative viewing- and i'll miss my hockey fix for the weekend, damnit.

Takes about 10 minutes for me to rip a CD.

I ripped a bunch of classical CDs today. I used a bitrate of 192, figuring the disk space was worth it for those CDs.
