Had lots of fun today with the little boy. Took alexander to the Ballard locks and watched a fishing boat and a few others go through the ship canal and talked about what canal locks do. Also went and looked at the fish ladder, even though nothing's migrating now, so there wasn't anything to see there. Shot a few pictures experimenting with the black and white mode on the digital camera, and, ever the photo geek, had to carry filtration- so half of the images are taken through a Cokin 003 Red filter with exposure compensation of a stop and a half. Will probably post one or two of these tomorrow. It's interesting to see the learning process in practice- some of the things he picks up aren't what i'd expect from a four-and-a-half year old.
