Well.... i managed to walk into a church without lightning falling from the skies to incinerate my heretical pagan self. Amazing. Or it says something about the protectors amongst my Divine Ones.

On that note, i'm up to four. Brighid was the first, then An Mhór Righan, Manannan mac Lîr, and now finally, Lugh. This last after a long series of talks which were pretty one-sided, with my brief interjections running to the likes of "OK, who are you," and "You sound a little like Manannan, but you're obviously not." Funny that the foster son should sound a bit like his foster father, now, isn't it? Funny that i talk so much at times about being a jack of all trades and end up with a divine entity identified as the master of all arts. Funny that i should end up with another divine patron of poetry and the arts, isn't it? At least he seemed to think so- it took me a little longer to adapt to the concept.

Ever been absolutely sure that one of the Divine Ones was laughing at you? I have.

Just a little more down this rabbit trail before i return to what i started out talking about. Been working at cleaning up a piece of knotwork i scanned before the scanner went into forced retirement with the OS upgrade. Got bits of poetry posted recently. Have a new piece starting to kick around in my skull. Also playing with the concept of trying to scribble at a new piece of erotica or two, because it has been entirely too long since i've turned out any of merit. This may even be something other than lesbian smut. Might even try writing a male character this time, as frightening as a concept as that is for me. Anyway, at least a first female character has coalesced from out of the ether; and it has to be set in a particular place, just out of sheer cussedness on my part. Need to get back to working on Melpomene's Daughter again too, since it has been dormant too long, and not because i lack direction on where the story is going, but simply because i'm too damn lazy.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....
Went to the peace discussion with [livejournal.com profile] greenshadows and his neighbours. If you're on my friends' list and live in the metro Seattle area, i posted the info on this earlier today, if you're not, i figured you didn't need to see an irrelevant post about an event you couldn't possibly attend. Rep. McDermott spoke well, and with emotion- and continued to seem more sincere than i'd expect a politician to. The speaker who followed, Bert Sacks, had a lot of information- like the fact that Bush pere and cronies deliberately targeted the Iraqi infrastructure- power plants etc., and reduced the electrical output of the country by ninety-four percent, which has had a corresponding impact on the country's water and sewage services, resulting in famine-like conditions responsible for the deaths of some half-million children under the age of five in the ten years of sanctions against Iraq. Funny how having a trade embargo on a nation for ten years after bombing their nation back to pre-industrial levels could do something like that. And the oil Iraq is allowed to sell in exchange for humanitarian aid amounts to about $1.50 per Iraqi per year; and we know how far that will go as far as healthcare goes.

OK, enough babble from this little grey duck for one evening. You probably know more now about my religious experience, my quirks, and my politics than you wanted to, assuming you made it this far. If not, oh well. It's my journal and i'll chatter if i want to.

Be calm, be productive. Yeah, that's it. Maybe that's my mantra for January.

ROFLMWAO ... Don't you just love Their sense of humour? And the way that all the conversation (at first) goes like "Ok, who are you?", "Yes, Sir. No, Sir." *laughs*

And at least you can still count your Divine Ones on one hand. My first was Hecate, then Sekhmet, Oya, Pele, Brighid and Neith. There's also Hel, Nut and Nephthys. And that's just the Goddesses. Gods-wise, there's Anubis, Arawn, Hades (spotting a pattern here, anyone?), Apollo -- and, oddly enough ... Herne.

Admittedly, that's keeping the list short ... But you get the idea. :p

Ever been absolutely sure that one of the Divine Ones was laughing at you? I have.

Oh, yes - frequently. A close friend of mine has Loki as one of her Divine Ones ... No, don't even go there. :p

Divine ones? I've met a few, had a few conversations, but Krisna is the only one I'd call a guide, and that was long ago. He was often with me when I was a child, different from the other entities ( which I would consider as other than Gods ) that I was aware of. Hm.. I guess I'd better be prepaired for that kind of thing, since I'm trying to pay attention now, instead of trying to close myself off.

I like your quirks.... *grin*. And besides, like you said...It's your journal....

*hugs*
